Introduction

We are excited to announce the release of VoxBo 1.8.4 for Linux, OSX, and Cygwin (Windows). This release is available both as a patch and as a full release. Both versions include all the binaries, but the patch is missing some redundant stuff, and doesn't overwrite any of your configuration files when you unpack it.

Here's what's new as of 1.8.4:

New features

  • vbcfx (replaces txt2num)
  • -r and -m options for vbmaskmunge
  • maxjobs in vbbatch, voxq
  • job killing and halting now works again
  • vbxts is back and (almost) better than ever
  • a new contrast defining widget is now available in vbview and as a stand-alone program
  • in vbview, you can now refresh trial averaging (i.e., if you edit averages.txt) by switching averaging off and then back on
  • in vbview, you can now byteswap the anatomical image (from "Special" menu)
  • vbdumpstats now supports the -d0 and -n0 flags to explicitly turn off mean scaling and linear detrending

Bug fixes

  • vbview should be much faster with high-resolution overlays
  • issues with scaling due to prm file headers have been fixed
  • bug fixes for vbfit
  • improvements to the graphing widget used in gdw, vbview, and vecview
  • vbhdr now supports the -x (set origin) and -z (set voxel sizes) flags, plus some other minor bug fixes
  • you can now load a fresh GLM in vbview without having to restart or open a new tab
  • vbi now shows a proper "real" voxel count (voxels stored in file)
  • contrasts "0 1 -1 0" etc. now interpreted properly
  • vbstatmap now propagates all the headers from the parameter (prm) file
  • vbstatmap used to use the conservative c(V) calculation for FDR thresholds, but now uses c(V)=1
  • some serious nifti bugs fixed (you can now load the SPM5 templates, for example)
  • scale factors are now read and written for voxbo, analyze, and nifti formats when appropriate
  • averages.txt was buggy when using "units time" — all time measurements are now in ms
